Nursing Program- Delaware Tech- Stanton Campus
The Associate Degree Nursing Program at the Stanton Campus prepares a graduate to take the National Council Licensure examination for Registered Nurses. The program enrolled its first students in 1973 and has graduated over 2200 nurses. Most are working in Delaware. In 1977, the nursing program was granted accreditation and continues to be fully accredited through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Our graduate success rate on the RN licensing examination has averaged between 86% and 100% on the first time testing. Our job placement rate has averaged between 95% and 100% within six months following graduation. Most of our graduates seek employment in New Castle County. Our highest employer is Christiana Care Health System. Other graduates are employed by St. Francis Hospital, du Pont hospital for Children and Delaware Psychiatric Center. More and more of our graduates are obtaining positions in community nursing agencies. PROGRAM SUCCESS RATES National Council Licensing Examination-RN (NCLEX)

University of Delaware
At the University of Delaware, we offer undergraduate and graduate nursing degrees. The undergraduate nurse is prepared as a “nurse generalist” and upon graduation and licensure is able to work in any field of nursing. Our faculty believe that the baccalaureate degree is the best preparation for entry into professional nursing practice. Our students attain high passing rates on the nurse licensure exam and enter exciting careers in hospitals, public health and community agencies, and out-patient services. Many of our undergraduate degree students return for graduate nursing education to advance their skills and specialize. We have three very different program options for obtaining a baccalaureate of science degree in nursing (BSN). Our traditional program is for those having no prior education or degrees. This program is a full-time course of study that takes 4 years to complete. We offer an accelerated degree program for students who already hold one or more baccalaureate college degrees. This program is a full-time, 15-month course of study. For nurses who already have current licensure but do not have a baccalaureate degree, we offer an RN to BSN program via distance education using the Internet. Most nurses complete their degree through part-time study within 3-4 years. At the graduate level, the University of Delaware offers a variety of advanced professional specialties. Nurses with a baccalaureate degree may pursue either a clinical nurse specialty master of science in nursing (MSN) degree, a nurse practitioner MSN degree, or a health services administration degree. The clinical specialty areas include cardiopulmonary, gerontology, psychiatric and pediatric nursing. Our nurse practitioner programs include family nurse practitioner and adult nurse practitioner. Nurses (and non-nurses) with an interest in administrative roles may seek a degree in Health Services Administration. Post-master’s certificates are available in all areas for those who are already master’s prepared. Our faculty are dedicated to high quality education. We use many creative approaches to meeting the needs of students, our local community, and the profession. We pursue scientific research to determine best nursing practices and share our findings with our students and colleagues throughout the world http://www.udel.edu/
