Nursing is a demanding profession. Those who are able to succeed in it long-term use their altruistic, caring natures on themselves as well as their patients.

Nursing schools and recruitment materials traditionally have had a feminine face. Administrators and recruiters are trying to change the face of nursing to include a more macho image in order to attract males to the profession.

Non-accredited nursing programs may be convenient in some ways. However, they cannot replace accredited programs in the increasingly complex and specialized field of nursing.
